Abrene’s Journey: Faith, Strength, and Purpose
Abrene’s journey began in January 2024 after a routine mammogram led to a diagnosis of stage 2 breast cancer. What followed was a path many fear, yet she walked it with a steady heart and unshakable faith.
Her treatment included surgery, chemotherapy twice a month for four months, and six weeks of radiation. While the process was intense, Abrene made a decision early:
God was in charge.
She remained obedient to every step, trusting the process, the guidance, and the outcome. Through it all, her faith deepened in a way she had never experienced before.
💜 Finding Strength Through Connection
During her journey, Abrene connected with Cheryl Brown, founder of LIVED2TELL Cancer Support Outreach. Through shared experience, encouragement, and understanding, that connection became a source of strength and reassurance.
During this time, she was also supported through a LIVED2TELL care package, a reminder that she did not have to walk this journey alone.
While receiving support, something began to shift within her.
🌿 Purpose in the Middle of the Fight
What makes Abrene’s story especially powerful is what she chose to do while still in treatment.
She gave back.
Through creating “Just Because Baskets” for others going through chemotherapy, she discovered something life-changing:
Her purpose did not pause because of her diagnosis. It became clearer.
Abrene believes that everyone has a gift. Even in the middle of life’s hardest battles, that gift can become a source of strength.
🎀 Walking in Healing
Today, Abrene stands not only as a survivor, but as a woman walking in healing, strength, and renewed purpose.
Her journey reflects what it means to move from diagnosis… to faith… to purpose.
🙏 A Prayer That Carried Her
“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.”
God bless you all.
